Benefits of Paper

The BAG TO EARTH products are a vital tool for environmentally friendly source separation in and around the household. They also prevent valuable raw materials from being incinerated or taken to a landfill. BAG TO EARTH products have a superior tensile strength and withstand most climatic conditions regardless of extended collection periods.

There is no need for de-bagging these bags. They become part of the finished compost and ultimately part of the food chain. Stringent testing in Canada, the US and Europe has shown that the paper yard waste bag and the food waste bag have absolutely no negative impact on either the composting system or the finished compost. In fact results have shown that the bags actually enhance the soil's ability to grow.

Paper bags enable the contents to "breathe". The lack of odours is preferred by everyone in the waste diversion chain. Unlike plastic bags, which encourage odours and attract rodents, these paper bags reduce the risk of health hazards. They also help in controlling litter problems at compost sites.

Because these bags are compostable they leave no contaminants. Not only is this better for the earth, but this also enables each bag to help make Grade AA compost, which is worth considerably more to the operator than compost with traces of plastic.

The kraft paper bags that we produce are made from completely renewable resources. All the raw materials needed to construct them, including the glues and printing inks, are compostable. Trees are carefully managed through controlled felling and replanting. For every tree that is felled more trees are planted. This allows the natural environment of the forest to be maintained. The emission of oxygen and a higher rate of absorption of carbon dioxide by new growth trees help to control the greenhouse gases. Beyond this, the use of paper has a low environmental impact, compared to the life cycle of alternative materials, such as plastic.

BAG TO EARTH is aware of our dependence on the natural resources of our planet. We also know that the efficient management of our resources will have a tremendous impact on our way of life in the future. The life cycle analysis of our products as well as that of the raw material suppliers is just as important to us as a company as the end use of the bag is.
